Over the years, the Golden Horseshoe Woodturners Guild has been involved in a number of initiatives to help the less fortunate....

• The Guild's major focus has been a Wig Stand Program that was initiated in 2010  and which continues to this day.  Each year, approximately 150 wig stands are turned by members and donated to the Juravinski Regional Cancer Centre in Hamilton.  These are then passed on to patients suffer hair loss and require wigs as provided by the Canadian Cancer Society support group.

• Recently, the Guild has joined forces with the Woodcarvers Guild to produce walking canes for Canadian Armed Services veterans with disabilities.
