Within the reach of most skill lvls but more challenging than 1st thought to get it right.

Good things come in 3's.  Must match in shape and size.  Wood variations are OK.

Practice for the ornaments you exchange at the annual holiday celebration dinner

Ornaments are shared and given to our spouses/guests brought to the dinner

Start from a log/branch and turn a bowl with the live edges.  Epoxy to fill the holes

Lets get official.  Winner's gavel/mallet to be used at the next Executive meeting!

Many options here.  Consider Cheese grater, honey dipper, spoon, rolling pin etc.

    Eli Avisera

    https://en.eliavisera.com

Eli Avisera is an internationally renowned woodworking artist and a world-class expert in woodturning, carving, wood sculpture, and chair making.  He is also a luthier (violin maker) and has an extensive background in classic carpentry, cabinet and furniture making.

Eli will demonstrate several of his creations (up to 8 if time permits) throughout the day.   Visit Eli's website to see some of his finer creations:   https://en.eliavisera.com/

Coffee & snacks will be provided throughout the day, but if you have any dietary restrictions or favourite foods you may wish to bring those for yourself.   A light lunch and water/coffee will also be provided.

The Craft Centre building at the Rockton Fairgrounds is a long narrow building and we will be sitting on benches (3/bench) in a horseshoe format around our demonstrator.   Attendees are also welcome to bring their own lawn chair and/or a seat cushion to make the day a little more pleasant.  AV equipment includes a 65" TV screen and multiple cameras to enhance your viewing experience.

    Parking is free.

The event starts promptly at 9:00 so please try to arrive early to ensure you can grab a coffee and find a good seat.

This event is a joint presentation made available by the Golden Horseshoe Woodturners Guild, the Thames Valley Woodturners Guild and the Waterloo-Wellington Woodturners Guild.   We appreciate this partnership and look forward to creating more opportunities together in the future.

    Eli Avisera Workshop

Eli Avisera is an internationally renowned woodworking artist and a world-class expert in woodturning, carving, wood sculpture, and chair making.  He is also a luthier (violin maker) and has an extensive background in classic carpentry, cabinet and furniture making.

Visit Eli's website to see some of his finer creations:   https://en.eliavisera.com/

Eli will host a workshop for up to 12 "advanced" level turners from the GHWG, TVWG and the WWWG.  Participants will be able, under Eli's tutelage, to turn a couple of his favourite pieces.    This is NOT a course for beginners and only well experienced and proficient turners should register for this event.   Wood will be provided.  Cost is $150 each.  Parking is free.

Coffee & snacks will be provided throughout the day, but if you have any dietary restrictions or favourite foods you may wish to bring those for yourself.   A light lunch and water/coffee will also be provided.

Participants should bring their own tools.  A sharpening station will be available as required throughout the day.  Each participant will turn on one of the provided lathes.  Unfortunately sanding is frowned upon as there is no dust collection or ventilation system in the church.

As this is a partnered event, 4 spots are reserved for each guild.  Registrants beyond the 4 from each guild will be added to a waitlist.  If one guild is not able to fill up their allocation, spots will be opened up to those on the waitlist.

The event starts promptly at 9:00 so please try to arrive early to find a lathe, layout your tools and grab a coffee.
